Biography
Nadia Kalmykova - Violin
Nadia Kalmykova was born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. At the age of 12, she moved to Norway, where she entered the prestigious Barratt-Due Music Institut in Oslo to study with Professor Isaac Schuldman. From 2011 she continued her studying with Prof. Pavel Vernikov at the Music and Arts University of Vienna. Currently Nadia is making a chamber music master degree with Prof. Johannes Meissl at University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
Nadia is a prizewinner of several international competitions: 1st Prize and public Prize at International Duo Competition "A feast of Duos" in Switzerland (2016), 2nd prize at Padova International Music Competition (2013), 1st prize “Citta di Moncalieri” (2014), as well as 1st Prizes at all Norwegian national competitions.
She performed as soloist with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra (April 2013), Paneuropean Philharmonia (June 2015) and several youth orchestras in Norway, Austria, Switzerland and Russia, and took part in festivals like Sion Festival (Switzerland), Festspillene in Bergen (Norway), Hainburg Festival, Wien Modern (Austria).
As a soloist and a chamber musician she played at prestigious venues such as Wiener Konzerthaus, Wiener Musikverein, ORF Radio Kulturhaus (Austria), Small Hall of Saint- Petersburg Conservatory (Russia), Parnassos Hall (Greece), Bergen Grieghallen (Norway).
Nadia attended master classes of am.oth. Pierre Amoyal, Leonidas Kavakos, Natalia Gutman, Menahem Pressler, Diotima Quartet.
